"The days of the Guru are gone" came to me years ago , in those exact words. This wisdom came at the beginning of the age of true empowerment which is now upon us. I suppose one must ask "what makes a guru a guru"? Or even better who? Not reading my whole life on any subjects and of spirituality especially and purposefully, I have deduced through the excavation and integration of my souls rich history that WE make the person a guru or not. I understand in literal terms it means "one who brings another to light", so that could mean your therapist or mother, priest or even Yeshua.. Is a guru defined by clothing? The colour of the clothing? What food they eat or not? If they do yoga? The geographic origin of the body? Economic status? By how many people choose to sit around them and listen/ learn? What criteria does one use? Or is it merely the old structure of dis-empowerment that need be recognized, transmuted and rebuilt as the sovereign self? Guru in this day and age means dis empowerment depending on YOUR definition of what following ones teachings means. If you identify the teaching with the person, there can be a trap, a co-dependence instead of a steady stream of appreciation that is reciprical.. One who is aligned with spirit is more powerful than millions who are not. The millions who do not take the time to nurture their own connection fall into these ruts. Most people still cannot or do not want to hold their own space beyond the church or temple, so they must keep going back wanting the teacher to hold the space for them. THOSE days are gone. A teacher ideally gives you tools that teach you how to feed yourself for life, not feed you for a day. A teacher who can relate to your process has wisdom to impart as you climb the rungs of your soul's destiny. Throughout time there have been those who were able to access higher consciousness beyond the density of this dimension and dazzle others in the stark contrast of reality. They were followed and gathered around because people felt something in them that they were disconnected from within themselves. It is very easy to remain at peace sequestered on a mountain top void of all reflection and feel like a holy man. It takes a different kind of spirit to be that love and light among the masses within the human condition. Even the days of the middleman are coming to a close. Once one learns to love through the integration of their divided mind and heart, one accepts and sees themselves AS that love and wholeness is realized. Then the middleman or Yeshua must be disregarded as something with another name. You share the same consciousness in your wholeness and in truth. Guru has a bad connotation because it has been used as a blanket term to describe one who has people or students who "follow" or gather many other like souls. There are many not so wise who know the power of leading through the weakness of people's minds and need for love and direction. Hilter was one, the Catholic church is another when you consider that in both cases there is extreme control and power over the minds and hearts and no love to be found in the rules. 'Humility is a condition often demanded by humans to diminish the power of another. Humility is a feeling when the heart connection has resonated with the essence of the spirit not the human from which it speaks. Gratitude for the channel goes without question, humility comes in the presence of holiness which is rarely completely embodied in a human and never discovered in the ego ". -Siobhan Nicolaou " I am the lord thy God, put no man before me" is one of the ten commandments that was given to Moses. To me it means a number of things. 1) No "man" meaning person, wife, husband, church, holy person 2) Anyone who would be a guru worshipping him instead of the spirit within you 3) Any statues or idols 4) All negative thinking, emotions All of the above are false Gods, and anything you put between you and your spirit is just that. Gurus DO serve even in the worst of ways because it is the lessons that go with giving away or misusing power that are being offered in such a setting. It is wonderful to align with the umbrella of a good teacher for as long as you are serving your personal development with the teachings, for you are enfolded by the consciousness they derive from a concentrated source. It can be quicker for you, IF they are teaching YOU how to align with YOU and not following some sort of rigid belief system. All antiquated structures on every level are being destroyed and crumbling. The Great Awakening is upon us and the time for change is now. -Siobhan Nicolaou
